ABOUT ME

Gradient Background

BACKGROUND

Emery brings many years of life experience to her work as a counselor, including time spent working as a first responder. Much of her professional experience has involved working with children and adolescents between the ages of five and 17, supporting them as they navigate emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, and the complexities of growing up.

Because of her background in public safety, Emery has a strong passion for supporting first responders and their families. She understands firsthand the unique stressors that can come with careers in law enforcement, fire service, corrections, EMS, and dispatch. These professions often involve exposure to trauma, long hours, and the pressure of protecting others, all of which can impact both personal well-being and family life.

While Emery’s clinical focus includes working with first responders, she also works with children, teens, and adults from many different walks of life. Stress, anxiety, trauma, and emotional challenges are experiences that can affect anyone. Emery supports clients who are navigating life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and personal growth, helping them develop healthier coping strategies and greater resilience.

With her experience in public safety, Emery is especially passionate about supporting first responders who may be navigating the emotional weight of their work. She understands the culture of public safety and the challenges that can come with repeated exposure to trauma, high expectations, and the responsibility of protecting others. Emery strives to provide a space where first responders and their families can speak openly, process difficult experiences, and find support while continuing to care for themselves and those around them.
