Mental health therapy can be a beneficial component for any individual, family, or couple for a variety of reasons.  You do not have to be experiencing a traumatic event to find relief in therapy either.  We understand seeking help can sometimes raise additional questions and / or concerns, but we can assure you that in the long run, you will be happy to make that decision. 

We utilize a variety of treatment approaches to help ensure we meet the client where they are and in a way they are most comfortable with.  Therapy should be a collaborative approach that incorporates the ideas of you, as the client, together with your therapist.  You should conclude therapy feeling a sense of empowerment and strength.

Therapy can be conducted in an individual, family, couple or group setting.

Individual Therapy:

Individual therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a trained professional works with a person on an individual basis to overcome anxiety, depression, past trauma, and more while also learning and implementing healthy boundaries, self-care, and grounding exercises. Individual therapy can be a unique set of treatment goals that vary from person to person. Anyone and everyone can benefit from individual therapy as it provides a safe and supportive environment to discuss and process anything that may have happened or is currently happening in your life. Each of our providers utilizes a variety of modalities to best match with the individual in therapy and help them work towards their ultimate goal. Our main focus is supporting you along your own journey as you are the expert within your own life. 

 

Individual therapy can be done on a weekly basis, biweekly, or even monthly maintenance program. Reach out to one of our amazing providers today to discuss options.

Group Therapy for Adolescents:

Group Therapy will be offered at Northern Lights Therapy, PLLC and include topics such as: depression, anxiety, pornography, bullying, self-esteem, relationships, dating and more.

Some groups my be a "closed" format, meaning it would be a set number of participants and once started,  no new individuals would be able to attend until a new offering.   Other groups will be an "open ended" format, meaning individuals can attend as they please and new participants may join as needed.

Current "Open" Groups:

  • Teen Grief Support Group (age 12-18): Every Thursday, 6pm - 7pm

Family /Couples Therapy:

Family therapy can be beneficial for a variety of presenting concerns, and various modalities can be utilized to help achieve the desired results.  Children and  adolescents engaged in their own therapy often vocalize internal stressors within the family unit.  Having their family members or loved ones participate in therapy sessions with them helps improve the overall relationship in a safe and supportive environment.

Family therapy sessions can help explain further what your child or teenager is currently experiencing whether it be a mental health diagnosis, behavioral problems, communication concerns, self-esteem, or overall relationship struggles.  Family members can assist in supporting their loved ones coping skills and overall gaining a better understanding of their child. 

The goal of couples therapy is to  help each partner approach conflict without negativity, criticism, advice, or neglect and respond to each other in a secure and loving way.  This different approach to conflict helps repair and strengthen attachment leading to greater relationship satisfaction and safety.

Couples therapy can tackle a full range of relationship issues, from minor disagreements to major problems in communication.  It's never too late to seek help from a qualified therapist.  Even if you feel your relationship is too broken for repair, you'd be surprised how much therapy can help.
